Medical Murray Hires Western VP for Business Development
Medical Murray, a medical device contract manufacturer and designer, developer and has hired Eric Leopold as vice president of business development in the Western U.S. region.
He has more than 20 years of engineering management, research and design experience. Leopold most recently was with Altura Medical, where he led the research and development team in the design of a novel endovascular AAA stent graft system. Prior to that, he worked for several medical device start-ups and Fortune 100 corporations, including ProMed, NovoStent, Micrus, (which was acquired by Johnson & Johnson), W.L. Gore & Associates and Guidant (which was acquired by Boston Scientific).

He also has experience in product design and development, having launched intricate medical devices used in the cardiovascular, neurovascular and peripheral arenas. Throughout his career, he has been named on more than 30 U.S. patents in multiple applications.

The younger Leopold earned his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, an master's degree in materials engineering from San Jose State University, and a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa.
Founded in 1996, North Barrington, Ill.-based Medical Murray specializes in complex catheter systems, permanent implants and bioabsorbables for less-invasive vascular, urologic and surgical applications. The company's nano-molding capabilities feature patented molding technology of parts weighing less than 1 gram. -
