If you need complex medical devices, Medical Murray Southeast is quickly becoming a major regional resource for design, development, manufacturing and even sales of the specialty products.
And if you can help create complex medical devices, the company's growing Charlotte hub just might have a job for you.
The regional arm of Medical Murray has already outgrown the 4,000-square-foot facility it opened two years ago near the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. So it’s preparing to occupy a new building nearby to accommodate more growth.
The North Barrington, Illinois-based company bills itself as a leading designer, developer, and contract manufacturer of unique complex catheter systems, permanent implants and complex components for vascular, urologic and surgical applications.
Tanner Hargens, regional vice president and general manager of the Charlotte facilities, said Medical Murray will initially lease 6,000 square feet in the new building, though the construction provides an additional 6,000 square feet of shell space for subsequent expansion when needed
The company has 10 full-time employees at its current site. “But we plan to hire more, now that we will have room, as the business grows,” said Hargens, adding that he expects to host an open-house celebration at the new facility in the fall of 2015“
Our mission when we came to the Southeast has been to increase our support to the medical community and fill the need for highly complex device requirements from concept to production,” said Hargens. “Our facility expansion supports our mission by expanding our medical device services with continued focus on delivering innovative ideas and solutions for our clients. The new facility will also help us work more collaboratively with both new and existing customers by expanding our laboratory space and increasing local engineering resources."
Medical Murray, founded in 1996, also has a 2,500-square-foot development and contract manufacturing facility that was opened in May 2014 in San Carlos, California, in the San Francisco Bay area.
